Sundress Weekend Poetry Workshop Promo

As part of Sundress Publications, the Weekend Workshops are monthly creative writing workshops focused on growing the literary arts in Eastern Tennessee. Workshoppers are treated to a minimum of ten hours of instruction by advanced writers in their fields who can help not only to hone their craft but help discuss where to publish it. Each workshop also includes an element of incorporated learning, where attendees are taught a skill outside of the literary arts — including pickling, beer-making, crochet, baking, archery, etc. These skills help to broaden the experiences and vocabulary of the writer in order to keep the writing fresh and engaged with the outside world.

Mickey Newbury ~ Winter Winds Blow~

Mickey Newbury was born Milton Sims Newbury Jr. in Houston Texas, May 19, 1940 to Maime and Milton Newbury. As a child, he was inseparable from younger brother, Jerry; a friendship that continued throughout his life. In high school, Mickey decided to write songs. As a teenager, he shut himself up in his room, writing poetry and learning to play guitar. He organized a doo-wop group called The Embers. In 1959, Mickey joined the Air Force and was assigned to England for three years. When he returned to the United States, he pursued his dream of being a songwriter. He lived in a ’54 Pontiac and traveled around Texas, Tennessee, and Louisiana playing gigs and working on shrimp boats. Eventually he found himself in Nashville, and in 1964, signed a publishing contract with Acuff-Rose. He moved to Nashville in 1965 and about this time, his first child Joe was born. Shortly thereafter, Jimmy Elledge was first to cover a Newbury song, Just as Long as that Someone is You. 1966 was the year the music industry noticed Mickey Newbury. The Voice Of Life (Ezine Ready)

The Voice Of Life

Amidst intense activities the warrior hears the voice of life.

With its sweetness the voice removes all his mental anguish.

The voice drives him forward and makes him feel bright.

He becomes courageous and dynamic and cares not any adverse wind.

The voice is his friend, philosopher and guide.

It tells many secrets regarding how to face the challenges of life.

Getting its essence the warrior moves breaking tide after tide.

He has to live with his hopes and dreams.

Breaking the tides on the shore sometimes he becomes frustrated.

At that time the voice of life is heard.

The voice so sweet and energetic that it enlivens his body and mind.

Becoming rejuvenated and happy he moves with all smiles.

Resting on the voice he faces the challenges of both inside and outside.

The voice brightens all his darker sides.

He gets the touch of the divine and becomes an illumined being.

With all luminous flames in body and mind he blazes inspite of many shortcomings.

Since his childhood till date he is hearing life’s voice.

The voice has protected him from many dangers.

The voice removes all his states of stupor.

Therefore he has become a successful warrior.

Sometimes the voice comes from high above his head.

It enters his brain, body and mind filling him with all sweet messeges.

With those sweet messeges he works with smiles and remains fulfilled.

With all sincerity and dedication he shines.

The voice is the saviour of his life.

Where ever he is it is with him.

It protects him from all the adverse winds.

It fills his mind with all courage and dynamism.

He is always eager to hear his life’s voice.

Hearing the voice he feels rejuvenated.

In the voice he senses the divine messeges.

Life’s voice with the touch of the divine makes him filled with all divine essence.

Amidst intense activity hearing the voice he advances with courage and confidence.

To hear the voice clearly he mantains absolute silence.

By mantaining inner silence the voice becomes sweet and heart throbbing.

With all sincerity he moves with an electrical mind.

He lives with all his hopes and dreams.

The voice is his path finder in all situations of life.

It is always with him bringing on his lips all smiles.

With those smiles he serves his brothers and sisters and gets a deeper insight of life.

The voice will help him till the last breath of life.

By the sweet voice he gets the essence of all the struggles.

He cares not the struggles and happily overcomes those with all smiles.

Slowly and steadily he moves sensing all the beauties.

Breaking the waves on the shore sometimes he finds himself on the deep ocean.

Calmer and undisturbed become his nerves.

Away from all the actions and reactions he feels the divine within.

He rests magnificently with beautiful plannings.

Executing all the plans and ideas he feels to be in the deep sea.

He sees no waves but only silence predominates.

He embraces it with awe and reverence.

The divine blesses him and he spends the rest part of his life with all happiness.

The voice of life makes him smarter day by day.

Serving his family, society and organization he advances with courage.

Feeling to be in deep ocean he gets all pleasure and happiness.

Distrubuting those with others he serves all smilingly and rests in life’s essence.

L Featherz – The Missing Piece

The Missing Piece [Verse 1] Now let me start this story off with a grand introduction/ This man had a lost, broken heart that couldn’t function/ Not the right mindset, but an optimistic type/ He learned to live out of such a pessimistic life/ Wasn’t feelin’ it right, he met a girl/ Slightly shorter in height, hair braided in curls/ He introduced himself, thinkin’ maybe she’s the one/ She responded with a giggle and smile, havin’ fun/ Now stunned, for him this was quite an experience/ Plotting the words to say out of his fearlessness/ She showed interest, playing shy/ Yet she was still holding back, he didn’t know why/ It was, a Sunday night when they finally met/ The man realized he was holding on to no regrets/ Though, after all those times he played it bad/ She was leaving far away, she was all that he had/ [Chorus 2X] Love, the missing piece to everyone’s life/ The spiritual feeling when everything feels alright/ The strong, positive emotion of regard and affection/ Eternal destination of the greatest perfection/ [Verse 2] The days just proceed, but the man reminisces/ He cannot comprehend why he didn’t leave a final message/ Truth is that he didn’t know what to say/ Didn’t wanna seem obsessed since she was far away/ The pain seeped into his heart deep inside it hurt/ Nonetheless he lost all hope, psychological alert/ Had no purpose in life, nothing came right/ He tried writing poetry, but didn’t know what to write/ Nowadays the girl is famous with everything she needs …

Mp3 Terami Hirsch – Entropy 29

xxsurl.com Mp3 Terami Hirsch – Entropy 29 Dark, lyrical, alternative pop 12 MP3 Songs POP: with Electronic Production, POP: Piano Details: "Lush and theatrical…This is her best album yet." – Indie Music "…if you like music, you need to get this record." – Collected Sounds "5/5 stars…this is a gorgeous, if notably dark, collection of songs." – Musical Discoveries Singer-songwriter, Terami Hirsch, believes in embracing the imaginary. Hirsch’s literate alternative pop music combines low-fi electronics with haunting piano melodies. Decisively departing from the standard collaborative model of album creation, Hirsch’s artistic process is solitary and searching. Described as "cerebral theater," by Indie Music, with songs that Collected Sounds calls both "beautiful and eerie," Hirsch’s music is complex, vibrant, and intimate. Says Hirsch, "With each album, I try to transport my listeners to an unexpected musical world created by the intersection of sound and language." A Los Angeles native, Terami Hirsch began taking piano lessons at the age of five. "I remember sitting at the enormous grand piano in our living room, and feeling a profound sense of wonder and escape." As a student of classical music, Hirsch is drawn to the mathematics of Baroque composition, but moved by the aching beauty of Chopin’s nocturnes. Hirsch acquires additional inspiration from contemporary artists such as Kate Bush, Paul Simon, and Andrew Lloyd Weber. In addition to formal music training, Hirsch …
